PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable channel inferring of a channel received from two antennas of a base station(BS) by a user equipment(UE) and to enable a verification of UE of an antenna phase transfer signal previously transmitted to BS by UE, in a method for using a wide band CDMA communication system in which the BS uses a transmitting antenna diversity.;SOLUTION: A method for inferring and deciding channel for a WCDMA closed loop transmitter antenna diversity system comprises the steps of rotating a common pilot channel inferring according to an inferring phase difference between a receiving common pilot channel and a special purpose pilot channel from one antenna, and calculating the phase difference as a complex coefficient between the common pilot channel and the special purpose pilot channel. The method further comprises the steps of evaluating a cost function of an assumption (m) by considering the previous information by utilizing the previous information of the BS rotary angle, by considering a vector (x) including all the assumptions regarding the complex rotary coefficient of the BS regarding all the angles possible to occur according to the deciding rule for inferring the complex rotary coefficient.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
