PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize use and availability of a recording space.;SOLUTION: A tag is selectively allocated, and a program is recorded on a mass storage unit 50. Order of priority and the program are recorded, and the order of priority for maintaining the program on the storage unit 50 is decided. A tag is automatically allocated, based on a known user's preference which is allocated by a viewer, or it can be corrected, after the program has been reproduced. By making record managing system automatically decide whether the order has been recorded on the recorded program or on which recorded program the order is recorded, based on the tag, the storage unit 50 is used more efficiently and optimally.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
