ICE MAKING INSTRUMENT FOR MAKING TRANSPARENT ICE FOR 'ON THE ROCKS'

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make transparent ice for 'on the rocks', not clouded by bubbles and having a spherical or polygonal shape, by a method wherein water is poured into an ice making vessel and the vessel is cooled by a domestic refrigerator. SOLUTION: Water is frozen from the upper part of the ice making vessel by an insulating material (1a) of an ice making outer pan (1) and an air layer (1c), then, transparent ice is produced in a first ice making chamber (4) formed of an ice making inner pan (2) and an upper lid (3) and, thereafter, clouded bubbles are confined into a second ice making chamber (5) through small holes (2a) to freeze them. The transparent ice for 'on the lock', produced in the first ice making chamber (4), is taken out thereafter.
