PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent overheating of a damaged part associated with the occurrence of abnormality by detaching only a solar cell string causing abnormality such as an earth fault for continuous operation of a normal solar cell string and assurance of the safety of the detached solar cell string. SOLUTION: This device includes a detector 2-3 outputting an abnormality detection signal if abnormality is detected in any of a plurality of solar cell strings 1-1 to 1-4 in series with a plurality of solar cell panels, an intermediate switch 2-1 disposed on the way of the solar cell strings 1-1 to 1-4 and transitioning to an open condition by an abnormality detection signal from the detector 2-3, and a string switch 2-1 detachable for each solar cell string. The string switch 2-2 also opens by the abnormality detection signal of the detector 2-3.
