PHLORIDZIN-RICH PHENOLIC FRACTION AND ITS USE AS COSMETIC, DIETARY CARE AGENT OR NUTRACEUTICAL AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a phenol fraction which can be used as a cosmetic, a dietary care agent or a nutraceutical agent and contains rich dihydrochalcones (phloridzin and phloretin) obtained from the fruits of a rosaceous plant, and to develop a method for obtaining the fraction.;SOLUTION: The fraction obtained from the fruits of the rosaceous plant is characterized by containing at least 20 wt.% of polyphenols containing phloridzin in an amount of at least 10 wt.% based on the total phenols, and the method for preparing the fraction comprises starting from crushed apples, carrying out one or more solid/liquid extractions, drying the solid extract, and then extracting the dried product with an organic solvent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
