PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine with an automatic reverse stitching function, which can improve productivity even when sewing using neither automatic start reverse stitching nor automatic end reverse stitching is mixed in.;SOLUTION: This sewing machine with automatic reverse stitching function is equipped with a control box (automatic reverse stitching means) 18 to automatically perform automatic start reverse stitching and automatic end reverse stitching to form reverse stitching at the start and the end of stitching respectively and an operating panel 24 to individually switch and set whether or not practice start reverse stitching and end reverse stitching by the automatic reverse stitching means. A switch 30 with a function to simultaneously prohibit both the start and the end reverse stitchings and a control means to prohibit both the start and end reverse stitchings regardless of setting the setting means of both the start and the end reverse stitchings when the both stitchings are prohibited by the switch 30.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
