DUCT FOR IMPROVEMENT IN PROPULSIVE EFFICIENCY OF SHIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a duct for improvement in propulsive efficiency of a ship that can improve propulsive performance by appreciably improving thrust generated by an upper half of the duct and converting a part acting as resistance near a lower end of the duct into thrust.;SOLUTION: The duct P1 for improvement in propulsive efficiency of a ship is disposed between a stern part and a propeller of a ship. A sectional length L (chord length L) is substantially constant in the upper half, and becomes gradually smaller toward the bottom in the lower half. The angle of attack is changed gradually in the lower half so as to be inverted at the lower end from an upper end.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
