PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective device for sealed electric compressor capable of preventing pins from dropping off and ground leakage from occurring, even if the sealed electric compressor is brought into an abnormal condition such as gas leakage and large current occurs, thus causing a current fuse to be blown. SOLUTION: This protective device 3 for sealed electric compressor is provided with a protector assembly 2a having a housing 32 fitted with the current fuse 34 which operates by sensing prescribed overcurrent, and the housing 32 has an electrical insulating part 21 formed so as to shield a conductive part on a side facing an external joining terminal. By forming the electrical insulating part 21, the protective device 3 for sealed electric compressor is formed so that the insulation distance corresponding to the external conductive part may be equal to or more than 9.5 mm in its spatial creepage distance of insulation.
