PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a classifier which is capable of continuously and efficiently removing solids of a large diameter in spite of the materials to be treated which contain the solids, such as oil sludge, discharged from an oil tank and more particularly the materials to be treated which have a low flow property and high viscosity at ordinary temperature, and a method for classifying the sludge, and further to provide a sludge treatment equipment and a sludge treatment method capable of removing the solids contained in the sludge, or the like, then continuously treating the solids to change the solids to powder and granular materials having good handling quality and expanding their applications to their final treatment or effective utilization.;SOLUTION: This classifier has a cylindrical body 3 which is disposed in the horizontal direction, a heat medium supply mechanism 4 which admits a heat medium into plural pipes 31 constituting this cylindrical body 3, a rotary mechanism 5 which rotates the cylindrical body 31 and a discharge mechanism 6 which exists below the outside of the cylindrical body 3. The cylindrical body 3 is cylindrically disposed with the plural pipes 31 apart spaced intervals and plates 37 are joined to the inside surface side of the respective pipes 31.
