PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reuse an unnecessary worked waste, such as burr, being a forging material inferior in the castability, as a metallic product having excellent mechanical property given with the forging treatment while holding the stable quality equal to or higher than the case of forging with the new material.;SOLUTION: Molten metal is directionally solidified by using a material having such large heat conductivity as to quickly radiate heat to a metallic mold used for a casting apparatus and continuously cooling from the one end hollow passage 94 (F) toward the other end 94 (A) of the metallic mold. Further, a perform forging material obtained by casting, is formed as extremely simple shape and in the preform forging material cast by using the forging material inferior in the castability as the raw material, a casting defect is hardly developed. Furthermore, even in the case of developing internal defects, there defects are collected into a feeder head part in the preform forging material so as not to contain there defects in the metallic product obtained by forging the preform forging material thereafter.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
