PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide use of a phosphodiestelase(PDE) inhibitor in the manufacture of a medicament to stabilize blood pressure during hemodialysis. SOLUTION: A phosphodiestelase(PDE) inhibitor in the manufacture of a medicament to stabilize blood pressure during hemodialysis using phosphodiestelase(PDE) is preferably cGMP PDE inhibitor. One preferred cGMP PDEv inhibitor is sildenafil or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt. The PDE inhibitor compound can be administered in any conventional oral, parenteral, rectal or transdermal dosage form, usually also together with a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle, diluent or carrier. Accordingly, the PDE inhibitor compound described above (including formulation or composition containing the PDE inhibitor described herein) may be used in the manufacture of a medicament for the therapeutic applications described in this specification.
