PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine for combination therapy of benign prostatic hyperplasia, capable of reducing undesirable side effects. SOLUTION: A medicine for the prophylaxis and/or treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia is provided. The medicine comprises an active ingredient selected from a group consisting of an inhibitor of 17-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase activity and an inhibitor of aromatase activity. In the above medicine, either one active ingredient of the inhibitor of 17-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase activity and the inhibitor of aromatase activity is used in combination with administration of other active ingredient.
