PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To free a patient on dietetic therapy from a very burdensome work such as estimating food materials and weight, calculating energy amounts per unit weight by nutrient included in various food materials and recording it by handwriting when eating at a restaurant or the like. SOLUTION: A patient having a portable terminal 17 receives data of an energy amount per nutrient to be ingested every day and an energy amount to be consumed by exercise from a server of a health maintenance facility 1. When eating at a food providing facility 2 such as a restaurant, the patient reads a bar code printed on a menu by a bar code reader 20 of the portable terminal 17. When the bar code information is sent to a server 12 of the food providing facility 2, energy content per nutrient of the food is sent from the server 12 of the food providing facility 2 and it is automatically input in the portable terminal 17.
