PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system or the like that can select an optimum printer suitable for a read image among printers connected to an image reader. SOLUTION: In a digital copying machine and composite machine that is separated into an image read section and a printer section and to one black/ white image read section (scanner) of which printers are selectably connected, and the selectable printers are intermingled with a black/white printer and color printers, the scanner side has a means that recognizes an identification codes of the connected printers and a means that preferentially selects the black/white printer in the case of copying from the scanner.
