PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preference data management unit that can provide information matching the preference data changes with time for individual viewers even of various viewers different in time zone and weekday in digital broadcasting.;SOLUTION: A preference data management means 25 manages preference data consisting of genres denoting contents of preference of viewers and a degree of interest denoting the degree of interest with respect to the genres while dividing cells by a time zone or/and a day type. A program operation information update section 251 collects operation information with respect to a view program and a preference data update section 253 calculates a correlation between preference data obtained from each operation information and preference data of a corresponding cell or the correlation of preference data among all cells so as to update the preference data of the corresponding cells according to the result.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
