PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify structure of an automatic hand rail raising and laying device for a vehicle elevator for securely and smoothly rotating a hand rail.;SOLUTION: By actuation of a gate frame raising and laying prime mover, storage actuation for raising a platform from a horizontal position to a vertical position, and rotation actuation to lay it from the vertical position to the horizontal position can be conducted. An L-shaped base end bracket part is journalled to an upper half position of a gate frame by a hand rail installation shaft at a middle of it, an outer end on one side of the L-shaped base end bracket part is protruded outward from the gate frame, and a hand rail rod is installed. An inner end on the other side is disposed inside the gate frame, the inner end on the other side and an actuation shaft are journalled and connected to each other, and the hand rail rod is interlocked with rotation of the actuation shaft to be raised and laid between the storage position and the horizontal usage position in this automatic hand rail raising and laying device in the vehicle elevator.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
