PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a display of a picture display device from being disturbed at the time of switching an internally generated synchronous signal to a synchronous signal synchronized with a vertical synchronous signal inputted externally.;SOLUTION: The vertical synchronous signal generated by a synchronous signal generator circuit is not outputted at the point when the externally inputted vertical synchronous signal is confirmed for the first time, but is outputted at the point when the following external vertical synchronous signal is inputted at a prescribed cycle. Moreover, an externally inputted horizontal synchronous signal is outputted without synchronization with the externally inputted vertical synchronous signal at the point when the externally inputted vertical synchronous signal is confirmed for the first time, and a horizontal synchronous signal synchronized with the externally inputted vertical synchronous signal is outputted when the following external synchronous signal is inputted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
