PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a method and an apparatus for forming three-dimensional paper pattern data of clothing, capable of readily forming the three-dimensional paper pattern data from two-dimensional paper pattern data by using a three-dimensional CAD and both a method and an apparatus for preparing a paper pattern of clothing, capable of obtaining a desired form and preparing the optimum paper pattern by using the method and the apparatus for forming the three-dimensional paper pattern data of clothing.;SOLUTION: This method for forming a three-dimensional paper pattern of clothing using the three-dimensional CAD comprises a first process for obtaining a first function to transfer the paper pattern two-dimensional data of clothing developed to a first two-dimensional coordinate system to a developed drawing of a development when the development defined by an arbitrary three-dimensional coordinate system is developed to a second two-dimensional coordinate system, a second process for obtaining a second function for transferring the two-dimensional paper pattern data transferred to the developed drawing to the three- dimensional coordinate system, a third process for obtaining a third function for transferring the two-dimensional paper pattern data transferred to the three-dimensional coordinate system to a fixed position of the three-dimensional coordinate system and a fourth process for converting the two-dimensional paper pattern data into the three-dimensional paper pattern data so as to lay the three-dimensional paper pattern data on three-dimensional dummy model data formed on the three-dimensional coordinate system by using the first to the third functions.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
