PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the exposure of a proper image even when an abnormal value is included in an updated γ LUT. SOLUTION: This method for preparing transformation table preliminarily correlates the amount of exposure in accordance with a value of picture data and is further featured in such a manner that the outer angle θ between a straight line connecting the amounts of exposure which are correlated with (i-1) and i and a straight line connecting the amounts of exposure which are correlated with i an (i+1) with respect to the amount of exposure which is correlated with integer i which satisfies 0iN, where N is the value of whole picture data, is made to be the abnormal value if the θis larger than a predetermined angle and this abnormal value is corrected.
