Aryldiamine charge transporting molecules for a charge transport layer of an imaging member have a higher mobility by increasing the number of phenyl groups between the nitrogen atoms of the aryldiamine. The aryldiamine has the formula;wherein Ph represents a phenyl group and in which (Ph)n consists of ortho- and/or para-conjugated unsubstituted phenyl groups, X represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from 1 to about 20 carbon atoms, Y represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from 1 to about 20 carbon atoms, and n is an integer greater than 3. A charge transport layer is prepared by molecularly dispersing or dissolving the aryldiamine charge transporting molecule in a polymeric binder.
