A new and improved training device for downhill skiing. It assists beginners with maneuvering and controlling speed while learning. Gripping bars (16, 18) are attached to a declined pole member (8) secured to a planer member (4). The planer member has a curved up tip (4c) in front and a forward running surface (4L). One or more vertical anti-skid members (fins (3, 5, 6) and foldable flaps (10a, 10b)) are attached and suspended above and substantially to the rear of the forward running surface. The anti-skid members are attached to and suspended by an inclined and extended aft section (4a) of said planer member. A rear support (7) provides a second attachment between the pole member and the planer member. The device is rested on its forward running surface when gliding, and rocked back minimally when braking. Users may turn while gliding with the forward running surface, and while braking with the fins.
