A hybrid cycle electricity station combines advantageously in a single process a thermal cycle produced at elevated and at water boiler pressure by a nuclear power plant, and thermal cycle due to gas- and steam-turbines working in combination. Amalgamation of the thermal cycles leads to substantial gains in electric efficiency and output, as the (10) nuclear reactor supplies the heat-quantity needed to vaporise of feed-water of a conventional water-steam cycle. In conventional cycles heating of (32) condensate, (38) feed water and (90) superheating steam raised by a (10) nuclear reactor powered (12) steam generator is carried out in a (69) heat-utilising boiler by hot flue gases of a (68) conventional gas turbine. (21) Steam-expanded during the (20) steam turbine stage is either heated in the (72) firing equipment heated (22) reheating section of the (68) heat utilising border or is reintroduced directly into the (24) steam turbine stage. A water-steam power-plant cycle traditionally comprises (27) low pressure turbine stage, (29) condenser, (30) condensate pump, (53) low pressure preheater, (33) water heater, (35) feed-holder, and (37) feed-pump. A united power generating cycle is denoted by: HYBRID COMBINED CYCLE.
