METHOD FOR ACCESS TO TRACHEA IN PATIENTS WITH SHORT NECK WHEN SURGERY IS PERFORMED IN IMPOSED SITTING POSITION

The method for access to the trachea in patients with the short neck when surgery is performed in imposed sitting position comprises the incisions in the subhyoid region. The horizontal incision is performed superior to the manubrium of the sternum. Then the sternocleidomastoid muscles are moved apart and the middle veins of the neck, sternohyoid muscle, and sternothyroid muscle are dissected horizontally. Then the single hook is brought below the cricoid cartilage and the trachea is pulled towards the skin incision.
