The present invention is directed to a method of pressmolding that is carried out using a mold having an upper half,a lower half and a nozzle which opens and closes a moltenresin passage provided in the upper half or the lower half andwhich is located 10-100 mm below a mold cavity side surface ofthe half. A thermoplastic resin is supplied to a cavitybetween the upper half and the lower half which is not closedand the mold is clamped. Thus, a molded article having a goodappearance can be produced even when the molding cycle isshort.
