METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF STORAGE STABLE AZADIRACHTIN-RICH INSECTICIDE FROM SEED KERNELS OF THE NEEM TREE

Thorough efficiency studies (in relation to the azadirachtinconcentration) show, that the biological activity of theactive substances obtained by the methods according to theinvention corresponds to that of pure azadirachtin.The proceedures described have the advantage that only veryfew extraction steps and a very limited number of non-aqueous solvents are necessary and that inspite of this theoil content of the products is very low. From the residuesobtained by the described proceedures the neem oil and/orother constituents of the neem kernels may easily beextracted according to known methods.The described proceedures open the way to the simple and(economically) efficient production of a botanical,environmentally sound insecticide.
