A METHOD OF CREATING A UNIQUE AUTHENTICATED IDENTIFIER, ITS USE WITHIN A DIGITAL REGISTRY SYSTEM, AND A BUSINESS METHOD BASED THEREON

The algorithm of the present invention provides a means for legitimising userrights in digitalobjects obtained by indirect means. Processing a digital object with anauthenticating algorithmgenerates a Digital Object Authenticity Code (DOAC), which can be recorded ina secureregistry in association with a Participant Identification Number (PIN) for theoriginator of thedigital object. Another participant in the system can use the authenticatingalgorithm to generatea DOAC for a digital object obtained by indirect means and compare such DOACto those storedin the registry to verify the authenticity of said digital object in question.The participant mayhave the option of registering themselves as legitimate owners of anauthenticated digital objectin the secure registry, and if possible, attain rights to distribute saiddigital object. Relationshipsbetween the originator, the digital object, and any user/distributors will berecorded and stored inthe secure registry. Incorporating a Transaction Processing System (TPS) intothe system,enables a business method to be centered on the relationships between theoriginator-digitalobjects-user (and/or distributor).
