METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING DISPLAY OF INFORMATION BY AN ELECTRONIC PRICE LABEL BASED ON SENSED MOVEMENT

Techniques are described for changing information displayed by an EPL based oncustomer movement in an area near the EPL. The EPL includes motion sensingcircuitry whichsenses customer movement in an area near the EPL. When no motion is present,the EPL maysuitably display default information, such as price information, and thenbased on sensedcustomer movement in the area near the EPL, the EPL may display otherinformation, such ascollateral information relating to the nutritional content of an itemassociated with the EPL. In apresently preferred embodiment, the EPL may suitably display additionalmessages the longer acustomer remains in the area near the EPL.
