The invention provides an exhaust gas treatment unit for the selectivecatalyticreduction of nitrogen oxides under lean exhaust gas conditions which containsat leastone catalyst with catalytically active components for selective catalyticreduction (SCRcomponents). The exhaust gas treatment unit is characterised in that thecatalyst alsocontains, in addition to SCR components, at least one storage component fornitrogenoxides (NOx components).
