- Method and device for seismic exploration of a submerged underground zone, using seismic receivers coupled with the bottom of the body of water. - Acquisition units are used comprising an arrow where s seismic receivers are located, a measurement compartment for the acquisition and storage of the data received by the receivers and removable and selective flotation means. The acquisition units are wetted and, by the effect of gravity, they plug into the bottom and couple the receivers with the underlying formations. We first detect their respective positions, carry out seismic acquisition operations using an immersed source, so as to collect seismic data on the formation and then activate the flotation means to raise all or part of the acquisition units or else a means of data collection (vehicle or passive collection unit) is brought down to the vicinity of the different units. - Applications to prospecting or seismic monitoring of a hydrocarbon deposit for example.
