The present invention relates to the use of proinsulin C-peptide or a variant,derivative or fragment thereof in the manufacture of a medicament for reducingthe OTc interval and the use of proinsulin C-peptide or a variant, derivativeor fragment thereof in the manufacture of a medicament for reducing the riskof sudden death or 'dead in bed' syndrome; particularly in patients sufferingfrom IDDM.
