A novel fish attractant is disclosed which may be used in conjunction with a hook, lure or device for releasing the fish attractant. The fish attractantis the combination of super- corroding met allic alloy powders and an electrolytic agent. Normal fish attractants such as scent-producing agents and color-producing agents may be added along with a binder such as powered polymeric material without taking away from the desired chemical reaction of the invention. The fish attractantis produced by mixing the component s to form a blended material, configuring the blended material for use with a fish lure and sintering the configured blended material to form a porous matrix. There is also disclosed a device for dispersing fish attractant at a controlled rate into the water to stimulate the fish senses. The device includes a container for the fish attractantwhich is adapted for combination with a fish lure and having a hole in the fish attractantto control the rate of dispersion of the fish attractant.
