Preservation of fresh agricultural products and foodstuff with controlled atmosphere packaging and ultra-violet treatment

Packing system for the extension of shelf life of fresh plant products and foodstuff and for the fulfillment of international phytosanitary import. The packing consists of a specially molded, transparent and airtight container or tray (2) made of polypropylene or polypropylene coated polyethylene with an anti-fog coating. The tray with the fresh produce inside is vacuumed and re-gassed with nitrogen and carbondioxyde and sealed with a transparent airtight foil. The cover-foil (3) is coated with an anti-fog media, has ethylene adsorbing properties, and is provided with a one-way pressure releasing membrane-valve (5, 6) made of hard-polypropylene.
