The invention concerns a method for determining an iin vitro /icell architecture model for imitating the expression profile of a gene of interest in an iin vivo/i cell or target cell tissues iin/i ivitro/i, preferably target cells exhibiting a tumoral character. The invention also concerns a method for identifying or confirming a gene whereof the expression is suspected of being significantly different or identical between a normal iin vivo/i target cell and said abnormal iin vivo/i target cell. The invention further concerns a method for selecting a compound capable of being used as medicine for treating and/or preventing an alteration in the expression of a gene of interest. Finally, the invention concerns the use of said determined iin vitro/i models, in particular three-dimensional spheroid-type models as relevant model for studying expression of at least a gene of interest.
