RAPID TESTS FOR HERBICIDE RESISTANCE IN GRASSES

A method for use in detecting the presence of a target polypeptide in a weed, wherein the target polypeptide is connected with resistance of the weed to herbicides. The method comprises delivering to a sample of the weed an antiserum which is directed against the target polypeptide. The antiserum identifies and binds with the target polypeptide and the bound antiserum is then visualised by an appropriate method. The target polypeptide is preferably a glutathione S-transferase and the antiserum is preferably a monoclonal antiserum raised against polypeptide.
