The subject of the invention is mass visual screening testing using computers, especially ways of calibrating the optical system consisting of a computer monitor and the distance between the monitor and patient, plus the selection and the design of some specific tests used during computer based visual testing such as the visual acuity test employing optotypes with strip images changing their spatial frequency, level of grey or colour and their inclination, the computer perimetry test with moving visual objects, the colour resolution test with a special way of inputting the numbers to the computer and stereopsis test with aligned colour lines observed by the subject through colour glasses. Moreover, a system of organising visual screening tests with the use of a computer, wherein the diagnosis is automatically made on the basis of a cumulative analysis of data from the electronic questionnaire completed by the subject and the data resulting from the completion of at least one computer test of visual acuity is covered by this invention.
