It is found out that the expression of a disease gene can be monitored by using as an indication the expression of genes (cluster genes) which are identified as a cluster located in the downstream the disease-associated gene. By analyzing the expression of the disease gene by microarrays with the use of the expression of the cluster genes as an indication, candidate compounds for a remedy for the disease can be efficiently and comprehensively screened.
