The invention relates to novel glycidyl ethers obtainable by linking 1) a polyalkylene glycol monoglycidyl ether of the general formula (I), formula (I), in which R is an -H or -CH3 radical, and n=1 to 50, to 2) a difunctional or polyfunctional isocyanate (polyisocyanate); to curable compositions comprising, as the only epoxy resin component, these glycidyl ethers and a curing agent, and to curable compositions additionally comprising an epoxy resin component which is different from these glycidyl ethers, and furthermore to the use of these curable compositions for the coating, hardening and adhesive bonding of metallic and mineral surfaces and for the production of mouldings having improved adhesion and comparatively low chlorine contents as well as good elastifying properties.
