PURPOSE: Decoupling universal joint structure for a steering column of a vehicle is provided to improve safety by preventing vibration from being transferred to a driver through a steering wheel. CONSTITUTION: Decoupling universal joint structure for a steering column in a vehicle comprises a yoke divided into upper and lower yokes(10a,10b) cap(20) covering the yokes; sliding faces(11a,11b) formed by contacting to the yokes. The lower yoke is sliding with the upper joke to conveniently separate the cap from the yoke. The lower yoke is pushed back by impact in crashing a vehicle. Then the lower joke is moved toward a length direction along the sliding face. The upper joke is separated from the lower yoke to prevent impact from being transferred to a steering wheel. Thereby, the decoupling universal joint structure for the steering column in the vehicle improves safety by preventing vibration from being transferred to a driver through the steering wheel.
