PURPOSE: A jump rope and a calorie consumption measurement method are provided to measure the consumption amount of the calorie according to the exercise amount of jump rope, and to offer a recorded media with a measurement program to be read by a computer. CONSTITUTION: The jump rope with a calorie consumption measurement function consists of a data input device(606) for inputting various conditions including the sex, the age, and the weight of a user; a counter(604) for counting the number of rope skipping times; a display device(603) for displaying the number of times, the consumption amount of calorie, the time of exercise, and so on; a saving device for saving the statistical data of the calorie consumption amount; and a central processing unit(601) for calculating the calorie consumption amount according to the amount of exercise on the basis of the data saved in the saving device as well as the information obtained from the data input device.
