PURPOSE: Provided is a preparation method of high purity and homogeneous copper oxide(CuO) powder by adding acidic liquid waste, CuCl2, generated from PCB industry to an alkaline solution and sintering. CONSTITUTION: The simple preparation method is as follows: adding 1L of acidic liquid waste(CuCl2 solution) comprising 19-25.5wt.% of CuCl2, 7-10wt.% of HCl and 64.5-74wt.% of H2O to an 33wt.%(950-1000g) of alkaline solution such as NaOH, KOH or LiOH at 0-30deg.C for copper hydroxide slurry(blue); heating at 50-100deg.C for 1-3hrs. to get needle-shaped precipitates(black); sintering at 200-500deg.C. The simple method is characterized by adding CuCl2 solution to the alkaline solution in turn, and enables to prepare high purity CuO more than 97%.
