PURPOSE: Provided is a marine bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa BYK-2 which produces simultaneously rhamnolipid and methyl rhamnolipid used for the remediation of an oil spill. CONSTITUTION: The isolation method of Pseudomonas aeruginosa BYK-2 comprises the steps of: shacking-culturing a seawater sample in an isolation medium of a microbial strain for 7 days then followed by inoculating the medium to sterilized media and shacking-culturing them for 3 days; selecting a medium showing high oil decomposability then smearing it on a modified seawater medium to isolated a single strain; inoculating it to sterilized media then shacking-culturing them for 7 days; selecting a medium having excellent oil decomposability again then smearing it on a seawater medium to a single strain, Pseudomonas aeruginosa BYK-2. Where, shacking-culture is performed at 25 deg.C and 180rpm.
