The anti-neoplastic composition having a synergistic effect by combining arsenic compounds and glutathion depleting compounds

PURPOSE: Provided is an anti-neoplastic composition having a synergistic effect by combining arsenic compounds and glutathione depleting compounds, thereby decreasing the amount of arsenic compound having high toxicity. CONSTITUTION: The anti-neoplastic composition contains arsenic compounds and glutathione depleting compounds in a weight ratio of 1:1-100, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein the arsenic compound is selected from the group consisting of As2O3, As4O6, AsBr3, AsCl3, AsI3 and Melarsoprol; the glutathione depleting compound is selected from the group consisting of Thalidomide, Acetaminophen, Diethyl maleate, Ethacrynic acid, Dimethyl fumarate, Jatrophone, Sesquiterpene lactone, Menadione and BOS(Buthionine Sulphoximine). The glutathione depleting compounds increase the sensitivity of the arsenic compound to cancer cell, therefore, enhances its anti-cancer activity.
