PURPOSE: A device for removing colloidal particles from wastewater by a combination of electrocoagulation and chemical coagulation is provided, which can reduce secondary pollution due to chemical coagulant and avoid organics deposition on electrode. CONSTITUTION: Once a suspension including positive colloidal particles and negative colloidal particles is introduced to the inside of this device, positive colloidal particles migrate toward cathode electrode while negative colloidal particles migrate toward anode electrode. At this time, NaCl is injected to induce flocculation. The device comprises a wastewater inlet(21); a wastewater outlet(22); a cathodic body(15); an anodic cover(16); an isolator(19) which is installed at the upper part of the body; an anodic electrode(17) consisting of eight electrode bars; several electrical plates(20); and a support(18) detachably assembled to the cathodic body.
