PURPOSE: A double-sided microlens mold array fixed on a single medium is provided to improve an accuracy, a uniformity and a fill factor. CONSTITUTION: The double-sided microlens array(80) is composed of two large blocks or mold bases(82) each having an active molding face(83). Mold bases(82) are comprised typically of steel or other metal. Alignment members arranged on the molding faces(83) include guide pins(88), tapered locating bushings(86), microlens molds(84), mold cavities(85) and corresponding apertures for receiving the guide pins(88) and tapered locating bushings(86). The microlens are made to have a variety of shapes including spherical, aspherical and anamorphic.
