PURPOSE: A fuel tank by a horizontal partition of a ship is provided to minimize damage of the fuel tank by mounting a protecting partition for reserving fuel. CONSTITUTION: A fuel tank by using a horizontal partition in a ship comprises a horizontal partition formed along front and lower portions(10,20) of the ship; a protecting partition maintaining specific interval by being mounted on the horizontal partition through a fuel oil reserving space(30); a water ballast(40) formed on a side portion of the ship lower part; and a passage(50) formed on an upper end of the water ballast. The passage is installed between the water ballasts. Thereby, the fuel tank by using the horizontal partition in the ship reduces environmental pollution by preventing leakage of fuel oil contained in a fuel tank. Moreover, the fuel tank by using the horizontal partition in the ship minimizes damage of the fuel tank by mounting the protecting partition.
