PURPOSE: A device for measuring temperature of the charging side in the preheating section and a method for controlling heating temperature of a slab are provided to save fuel by accurately controlling the temperature of the charging side in the preheating section of the heating furnace as well as the total temperature of the heating furnace. CONSTITUTION: The method for controlling heating temperature of a slab by measuring actual temperature of the charging side in the preheating section comprises the steps of measuring an actual temperature of the charging side in the preheating section before estimating a temperature of the slab (S111); predicting temperature variation at the charging side of the preheating section after the step of calculating heating patterns of residual time using a temperature value measured at the preheating section before estimating the temperature of the slab (S112); analyzing temperature increasing patterns based on the temperature of the charging side of the preheating section after the step of estimating temperature variation of the charging side in the preheating section (S113); and analyzing a basic unit of fuel according to the temperature variation of the charging side in the preheating section using the temperature value predicted in the step of estimating temperature variation of the charging side (S114).
