Mobile phone with financial information within UIM card and method used therein

PURPOSE: A mobile terminal containing a UIM(User Identification Module) card storing financial information and a method for using the same are provided to achieve the settlement and charging of financial information through radio communication by storing various financial data in a UIM card. CONSTITUTION: If a user inserts a UIM card into the UIM card slot of a mobile terminal(S100), the mobile terminal judges whether the UIM card is recognizable and the insertion has been made correctly(S101). In case that the UIM card is recognizable and the insertion has been made correctly, the mobile terminal reads financial information, authentication information and user information from the memory of the UIM card(S103). Then the mobile terminal requests the user to input a password. If the user inputs a password, the mobile terminal compares the inputted password with the password of the read authentication information(S105). In case that the inputted password is matched with the password of the read authentication information, the mobile terminal outputs service menus(S107). The user selects and uses a desired service among the outputted service menus(S108-S112).
