Niosome stabilized Phellodendron amurense Cortex mori Radix polygoni multiflori and Radix glycyrrhizae extracts and cosmetics therein

PURPOSE: Stabilized niosomes with extracts of oriental herbs and the color cosmetic composition containing them are provided. The composition has the maximized activity of the medicinal herbal components and has enhanced moisture maintenance and penetration into skin. It also has excellent characteristics of adherence, spreading and persistency of the powder because it is surface treated by the niosomes. CONSTITUTION: The niosomes comprise mixing, dissolving and cooling 30-40wt.% (based on the whole weight of niosomes) of one or mixtures of the non-ionic surfactants selected from polyoxyethylene alkylether, polyoxyethylene alkylester and saccharose diesters; 2.0-10wt.% of diglycerol as an adjuvant surfactant; 0.1- 3.0wt.% of ceramide; and 30-80wt.% of cholesterol, cholesteryl ester, soysterol, and mixing and dispersing under high pressure with 0.1-10wt.% of the herbs extracts such as Phellodendron amurense, Cortex Mori, Radix Polygoni multiflori and Radix Glycyrrhizae. The color composition comprises high pressure spraying of 0.1- 10wt.% of niosomes based on the whole weight of the powder to the 85-95wt.% of the pigment with average particle size of 5-10m or 0.01-2m organic and inorganic pigments, freeze drying and surface treating. The above pigments are chosen from sievings such as talc, serisite, mica, PMMA and nylon powder and organic and/or inorganic colorants such as ferric oxide, ultramarine, D/C Red 7. The compositions are the various W/O or O/W cosmetic formulations containing 0.1-30wt.% of the niosomes, based on the whole weight.
