PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for controlling electronic cash in a mobile terminal having an electronic cash function is provided to manage the usage of an electronic cash function. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal having an electronic cash function includes an IC chip(20) to implement the electronic cash function and a loop antenna(30) to supply power to the IC chip(20) by induced electromotive force. The CPU(10) of the mobile terminal is connected with the IC chip(20) and the loop antenna(30) through the medium of an electronic cash control unit(40). The electronic cash control unit(40) is to selectively limit the use of electronic cash by an abnormal user. The electronic cash control unit(40) is operated by an electronic cash control signal transmitted from a management server that manages the usage of electronic cash.
