Remedy For Hypoglycemic Agent Contained With Green tea Extractive

PURPOSE: A hypoglycemic agent containing polyphenol of a Camellia sinensis extract as an effective ingredient is provided which has an activity on inhibiting a degradation stage of starch into disaccharides in the process of intestinal absorption of starch and reducing blood sugar level of a diabetic patient. CONSTITUTION: About 5 to 20 parts by weight of distilled water is added to 1 part by weight of Camellia sinensis leaves powder, heated for 15min to 1hr, cooled to 4deg.C and filtered. Thereafter, the precipitate is dried, ground and then extracted in an organic solvent, followed by removing organic extracts to give a hypoglycemic agent containing polyphenol as a main component.
